COMUNE DI MEINA (NO)

Edificio dall'alta facciata e dal campanile barocco, fu consacrato nel 1785, inglobando dietro il campanile un ossario secentesco.
La precedente chiesa romanica già citata nel Duecento era a destra dell'attuale sagrato. Gli interni sono decorati con delicati stucchi barocchi e tinte lievi.
Da sinistra si ammirano: il battistero ricavato nell'antico ossario, le cappelle di San Carlo e Santa Margherita, l'abside con tre affreschi (S. Ambrogio contro i pagani - D. Peracino, 1817; la gloria di S. Margherita e S. Carlo e gli appestati - L. Peretti, 1817) e infine due cappelle dell'Addolorata e del Sacro Cuore.

With its high front and Baroque bell-tower, this buildings was consacrated in 1785, incorporating, behind the bell-tower, an ossuary of the 17th century.
The previous Romanesque church, already mentioned during the 13th century, stayed at the right of the present-day parvis.
The inside is decorated with refined stuccoes and light colours.
Starting from the left we can admire: the baptistery obtained from the old ossuary, San Carlo and Santa Margherita's chapels, the apse with thee frescoes (S. Ambrogio against pagans, D. Peracino, 1817; Santa Margherita's glory and San Carlo with plague-sticken people, L. Peretti, 1817) and, at the end, the two chapels of Our Lady of Sorrow and of the Sacred Heart.
